Native to Southern Africa, devil’s claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) gets its name from the tiny hooks that covers its fruit. Historically, devil’s claw has been used primarily as an alternative treatment for arthritis and pain, though other uses for liver and kidney problems, fever, sores, boils and other skin problems.
